Sauna Safety & Intelligent Amenity Management
Aevia Labs is building a sauna and steam room safety sensor and intelligent amenity management system that delivers real-time insight into what’s happening in private heat spaces – without cameras or images.
No cameras. No images. Ever.
A critical blind spot in sauna & steam room safety
Wellness spaces like saunas, steam rooms, and hot rooms carry inherent risks – heat stress, syncope (fainting), slips and falls, and after-hours misuse. Cameras are an unacceptable privacy risk, leaving operators without a safe way to see when something is going wrong or how these spaces are actually used.
Designed first for saunas and steam rooms, with a roadmap for other enclosed wellness environments such as cryotherapy and hyperbaric.
What operators are dealing with today
-
No safe visibility into emergencies. Staff have to rely on chance walk-bys or guest reports to know when someone has collapsed, become unresponsive, or needs help.
-
Policy violations are hard to enforce. Overcrowding, propped-open doors, very long sessions, and after-hours use are almost impossible to detect consistently without standing guard.
-
Energy waste adds up quickly. Saunas and steam rooms often run when empty, or work much harder when doors are left open – quietly inflating utility bills.
Why cameras are not an option
These environments are fundamentally private. Recording video in wet, semi-nude areas is a non-starter for guests, staff, and regulators alike.
-
Privacy expectations. Guests expect spa-like areas to be camera-free. Any visible camera can erode trust immediately.
-
Regulatory and reputational risk. Storing sensitive video creates long-term data and compliance obligations that most operators want to avoid.
Privacy-first safety, policy enforcement & efficiency
The Aevia Labs system combines non-imaging sensors with on-device anomaly detection and multi-sensor fusion to monitor occupancy, detect critical events, and enforce your policies – all without cameras or microphones.
The system combines non-imaging presence sensing with ambient-room environmental sensing to detect risk and misuse in real time—without capturing any images or audio.
What the system delivers
-
Detect critical safety events. Identify falls, prolonged immobility, and other signs of distress in real time – even in high heat and dense steam.
-
Enforce facility policies automatically. Get alerts for overcrowding, after-hours use, very long sessions, or other rule violations, without dedicating staff to stand watch.
-
Unlock business analytics. Understand peak usage hours, session durations, and occupancy trends so you can staff intelligently and plan future investments.
-
Reduce energy costs. Detect empty rooms or propped-open doors and give your team the tools to cut unnecessary runtime and energy waste.
How it works – at a high level
The Aevia system is designed from the ground up to be human-safe, privacy-preserving, and integration-friendly.
-
Non-imaging sensing only. We combine advanced non-imaging presence sensing and ambient-room sensing, along with other non-camera inputs, to understand what’s happening without capturing identifiable images.
-
On-device anomaly detection. Safety logic runs locally at the edge for fast, robust response – not in a distant cloud.
-
Tiered responses. The system can escalate from local indicators (lights, tones) to remote notifications and integrations with your existing facility systems.
Ideal for operators where safety & reputation matter
We are prioritizing partners who see sauna and steam experiences as a core part of their brand – and who want to lead on safety, privacy, and intelligent operations.
Target environments
What launch partners receive
-
Early access to the technology. Be among the first facilities to deploy Aevia’s safety and management platform.
-
Influence on features & policies. Help shape the dashboards, alert thresholds, and workflows around your real-world operations.
-
Preferential pricing and support. Benefit from pilot-program economics and high-touch onboarding as we scale.
Interested in pilot deployments or early access?
If you manage a wellness center, gym, hotel, aquatic facility, or private sauna and you’re interested in safer, smarter sauna and steam operations, we’d love to speak with you.
What to expect
After you submit the form, we’ll follow up by email to learn more about your facility, your saunas or steam rooms, and what you’re hoping to achieve. From there, we can discuss pilot scope and timing.
Not a facility operator?
If you’re an equipment manufacturer, architect, or integrator interested in collaboration, feel free
to introduce yourself as well.
